5-day break in Bad Füssing at the 4-star thermal hotel Schweizerhof with excursions to Regensburg, Linz and Munich.
The motto of this holiday - experience, relax, enjoy! Bad Füssing and its surroundings offer the perfect setting for this soothing and carefree holiday. During our stay, we will be staying at the 4-star Thermalhotel Schweizerhof, which leaves nothing to be desired. The emphasis here is on a relaxing, feel-good feeling, and the entire hotel is equipped with high-quality comfort. Whether at breakfast or dinner, the chefs emphasise fresh products from the region. The thermal spa area (37°C) with saunas and whirlpools is also very inviting. Bad Füssing is an ideal starting point for our adventure excursions.
Monday: Drive via Zurich - St. Gallen - Lindau to Bad Wörishofen (lunch in a rustic ambience), continue past Munich to Bad Füssing, check into your room at the Hotel Schweizerhof. Before dinner there is time for a walk through the Kur-Allee or a visit to the thermal baths.
Tuesday: Today promises an exciting trip to Regensburg. Our city tour begins with a ride on the miniature train, taking us through the picturesque old town and immersing us in the fascinating history of Regensburg. Within 45 minutes, we'll learn all sorts of curious and interesting facts, historical and modern, splendid and eerie, about Regensburg and its inhabitants. Afterwards, we'll board a Danube ship to continue our exploration on the water. We'll experience a historic whirlpool ride, passing under the imposing Stone Bridge. For lunch, we'll visit the famous Wurstkuchl, where traditional sausages have been grilled over an open charcoal fire for more than 500 years. The afternoon offers plenty of time to visit the impressive cathedral, take a leisurely stroll along the Danube, or indulge in an extensive shopping tour.
Wednesday: Rich breakfast buffet. We continue our journey across the border to Austria. We visit Linz and first take the Pöstlingbergbahn to the city's local mountain. First, we stop at a café for coffee and, of course, Linzer Torte. Then, we'll be whisked away into the world of fairy tales with the Grottenbahn – a delight for young and old alike. By the way, this train is more than 100 years old. We return to Linz by bus, where we'll be welcomed for lunch at a "Heurigen". In the afternoon, we visit the cathedral and enjoy a small concert on the Rudigier organ – considered one of the most magnificent organs in the world. Later in the afternoon, we return to the hotel for dinner.
Thursday: In the morning, there's an opportunity for a stroll through Bad Füssing. At 10:00 a.m., we head to the Inn River to the Baroque town of Schärding. With an original ship – you'll be surprised – we'll take a round trip through the Inn breakthrough to Passau and back. During the boat trip, enjoy Munich-style white sausages with pretzels. Enjoy an interesting walk through the city before our journey continues to the rural distillery. There, we'll not only learn the art of making farmer's doughnuts but also enjoy a delicious snack in a cozy atmosphere. Before dinner, there's an opportunity for a relaxing visit to the thermal baths.
Friday: After breakfast, we head towards Munich, where we'll embark on an interesting city tour in the morning. We'll enjoy our last Bavarian lunch at the idyllic Wörthsee before starting our journey back to Switzerland.
