When the Palatinate Forest transforms into a sea of pink blossoms, one of the most beautiful times of the year begins. The almond blossoms bathe the vineyards in delicate colors and give the region an almost Mediterranean charm. On this trip, we will experience the enjoyable side of spring – with culinary highlights, cultural discoveries, and relaxing moments at the stylish Parkhotel Schillerhain.

Day 1: Alsatian romance & the magic of almond blossoms

Our trip begins with a detour to Alsace. In Riquewihr, one of the most beautiful wine villages in France, we enjoy coffee and croissants before setting off on a discovery tour with the Petit Train. We continue to Schweigen-Rechtenbach, where we visit the imposing German Wine Gate – the gateway to the German Wine Route. Our first lunch awaits us in a cozy wine bar. We drive along the Almond Trail Route through the hopefully blossoming landscape to Kirchheimbolanden. On a guided tour of the town, we discover the charming old town before checking into our rooms at the Parkhotel Schillerhain and ending the day with a delicious dinner.

Day 2: Vinegar enjoyment & technological fascination

After breakfast, we drive to Venningen to the “Doktorenhof.” In the historic vinegar cellars, we immerse ourselves in the world of fine vinegar – with stories, aromas, and a tasting that will surprise you. Afterwards, a wine aperitif awaits us at a winery, where we will learn about the diversity of Palatinate wines. In the afternoon, we have a choice: technology enthusiasts can visit the aviation museum in Speyer, while others can stroll through Maximilianstraße or visit the imposing cathedral. Back at the hotel, we will round off the day with a fine dinner and a drink at the hotel bar.

Day 3: Handcar ride & Alzey old town

Today will be active – but very relaxed. We will ride electric handcars on rails through the idyllic landscape from Altenglan to Lauterecken. The ride is safe, comfortable, and offers magnificent views. A delicious lunch in a rustic atmosphere awaits us at the Finnhütte. In the afternoon, we visit Alzey, a town full of history and charm. On a guided tour, we discover sights, wine traditions, and cultural highlights. Back at the hotel, we enjoy a final dinner and end the day comfortably at the bar.

Day 4: Neustadt & journey home

After breakfast, we will drive to the German Wine Route once again – to Neustadt. Here we will have time for a walk, a visit to the double church, or a glass of Palatinate wine in one of the cozy restaurants. We will have lunch at a special location – perhaps with the first asparagus of the season. With many wonderful memories of blossoming landscapes, enjoyable moments, and warm encounters, we will begin our journey home.
