We start our journey towards Lake Constance and take the car ferry from Constance to Meersburg – our first scenic highlight. In Ulm, we enjoy a delicious lunch before reaching the Bavarian capital of Munich in the early afternoon. During a guided city tour, we discover the most beautiful corners of the city and immediately feel Munich's special charm. We then check into our rooms at a centrally located ****hotel. In the evening, a typical Bavarian dinner awaits us – a culinary and atmospheric delight.
Today we embark on an extraordinary tasting tour: “Three courses through Munich” – a culinary journey of discovery that shows us the city from its most delicious side. Afterwards, we immerse ourselves in Bavaria's rural past at the Glentleiten Open Air Museum. In the midst of the Alpine foothills, around 60 originally furnished buildings convey a vivid picture of times gone by. We will end the evening in traditional style – with a 3-course menu and authentic Bavarian folk music.
We will travel to Garmisch-Partenkirchen, one of the most famous resorts in the Bavarian Alps. We will get to know the Olympic town better on a guided tour. Then we head up high: we take the cog railway to the Zugspitzplatt, Germany's only glacier. The glacier railway takes us further up to the summit, where a breathtaking Alpine panorama awaits us – along with a delicious snack platter. We return to the valley on the Eibsee cable car and the cog railway. Dinner in Munich is optional today.
After breakfast, we will drive to the famous Neuschwanstein Castle, which King Ludwig II had built in the style of an old knight's castle. The fairytale building captivates us and tells of the king's longing for seclusion and romance. On the way back, we will enjoy lunch at the Bavarian Rigi with a magnificent view. In the afternoon, there will be time for a shopping trip through Munich. Dinner is also optional today.
The morning is free for you to spend as you wish: whether visiting museums, shopping, strolling through the English Garden or relaxing in the hotel sauna – everyone can do what they want. At 11:30 a.m., we meet for a traditional Weisswurstessen (white sausage meal) in a rustic tavern – a genuine Munich ritual that must be celebrated before noon. In the early afternoon, we begin our journey home – with many wonderful memories in our luggage.
We are staying at the comfortable ****Holiday Inn Munich-City, which impresses with its central location – only about a 15-minute walk from Marienplatz and with direct access to the “Rosenheimer Platz” S-Bahn station. This modern hotel offers everything we need for a pleasant stay: an inviting restaurant, a stylish lobby bar, and a wellness area with saunas and relaxation zones. The rooms are spacious, bright, and modern—ideal for retreating after an eventful day and recharging your batteries.
