Luxembourg and the Valley of the Seven Castles

4-day trip to Luxembourg: Crémant tasting on the Moselle, guided tour of Luxembourg City, the fairytale Valley of the Seven Castles and excursions to Trier and Saarbrücken.

Small, charming and full of surprises – Luxembourg awaits us!

Between the romance of the Moselle, medieval castles and European capital atmosphere, we will experience a country that offers great diversity in a small space. Come with us on a journey full of enjoyment, history and scenic beauty!

Day 1: Arrival in Luxembourg & Crémant tasting

Our journey begins with a trip to the border triangle between Germany, France and Luxembourg. Soon we reach the Luxembourg Moselle region, famous for its fine sparkling wines. In a traditional winery, we immerse ourselves in the world of Crémant on a guided tour – naturally with a delicious tasting. Then it's time to say: ‘Welcome to Luxembourg!’ We check into our hotel and look forward to the days ahead. Dinner at the hotel.

Day 2: Luxembourg in all its glory: city, history & flair

Today we discover the capital city of Luxembourg in all its facets. Together with a tour guide, we explore the station district, the historic upper town and the modern European quarter. On a subsequent tour of the old town, we will see the impressive remains of the fortress, the Place d'Armes, the Constitution Square, the Grand Ducal Palace and the cathedral. In the afternoon, there will be time for your own discoveries – whether museums, cafés or a stroll through the green districts: Luxembourg invites you to linger. (Lunch and dinner optional)

Day 3: The Valley of the Seven Castles

A scenic and cultural highlight awaits us: the Eischtal valley – also known as the ‘Valley of the Seven Castles’. With a tour guide, we explore this fairytale region, where castles and palaces are strung together like pearls on a necklace. Neu-Ansembourg Castle with its baroque terraced gardens is particularly impressive. We will also marvel at Mersch Castle and Hollenfels Castle during exterior tours. At a regional distillery, we will learn more about the production of fine spirits from local fruits – and, of course, we will be able to taste them. A group lunch rounds off this eventful day.

Day 4: Trier & Saarbrücken: Enjoyable return journey

After breakfast, we will bid farewell to Luxembourg and drive to Trier – Germany's oldest city. The Porta Nigra and the Moselle promenade tell of Roman history and a lively present. We continue to Saarbrücken, where French flair and Saarland joie de vivre meet. We enjoy lunch together in the old town. Return to the Olten region, filled with many wonderful impressions.

The modern Novotel Kirchberg hotel is located on the Plateau de Kirchberg, a lively district with European flair. The stylishly furnished rooms offer contemporary comfort. Facilities include a restaurant, a cosy hotel bar and a fitness room. Particularly practical: public transport is free throughout Luxembourg! The nearest bus stop is only 500 metres away – and in just 8 minutes we reach the historic city centre.
