Itinerary

Day 1: Journey to Bregenz & Bregenz Festival

We travel together to Bregenz and expect to arrive at Hotel Lamm at around 12:30 p.m. If the rooms are already available, you can check in straight away. If your room is not yet ready when we arrive, luggage storage is available.

The afternoon is yours to enjoy at your leisure. Take a stroll through Bregenz, enjoy a coffee by the lake or have a first look at the festival grounds. We provide a shuttle service between the hotel, the town centre and the Seebühne (floating stage). There is also a public bus service directly from the hotel to the town centre.

In the evening, the highlight of our trip awaits us: Giuseppe Verdi's La traviata on the famous floating stage at the Bregenz Festival. Enjoy this unique open-air opera experience against the spectacular backdrop of Lake Constance.

Dinner on the first evening: You have the option of having dinner at the hotel restaurant. On request, we will be happy to reserve a table for you at 5:30 or 6:00 p.m. Please let us know when booking if you would like us to make a reservation.

Day 2: Lindau, Meersburg & Return Journey

After breakfast, we first travel to Lindau, where you will have time to explore this charming town in its unique setting on Lake Constance.

We then continue to Meersburg, where there is time for a leisurely stroll through the picturesque town and the opportunity to have lunch.

A special highlight awaits us in the afternoon: we take the ferry to Konstanz, giving us another chance to enjoy Lake Constance from the water. Afterwards, we begin our journey home, taking with us many wonderful memories of this varied short break and our special evening at the opera in Bregenz.

In a glittering world of champagne, dancing and elegance, Violetta Valéry enjoys the vibrant life of Parisian society. But behind the glittering façade lies a woman whose heart seeks more than glamour and pleasure. When the young Alfredo Germont enters her world, another life seems within reach – one based on love and sincerity. But in a world where money and social reputation reign supreme, there is little room for feelings.

With La traviata, Giuseppe Verdi created an opera of painful beauty – with moving arias, gripping choral scenes and an orchestral sound that makes the longing and drama of this tragic love story palpable in every note. Kirill Karabits and Pietro Rizzo, who are appearing at the Bregenz Festival for the first time, will conduct the music.

For the production, Italian director Damiano Michieletto transports the action to the glamorous world of the Roaring Twenties. Against the backdrop of dazzling jazz clubs and decadent evening parties, between a zest for life and fragility, Violetta must make a decision that irrevocably seals her fate.
