Dijon – gourmet delights & culture in the heart of Burgundy
Amidst magnificent facades, fine wines, and historic sites, we discover Dijon and the beauties of Burgundy. We immerse ourselves in the flair of the capital of the Burgundian Empire, indulge in culinary specialties, and enjoy the famous wine route with its fine wines. A trip full of enjoyment, culture, and French joie de vivre!
Day 1: Arrival & city tour in Dijon
On the way to Dijon, we stop for a leisurely lunch break at a beautiful spot along the route. In the afternoon, we arrive in the traditional capital of Burgundy. Together with our city guide, we stroll through the charming old town, past impressive facades and squares that still bear witness to the splendor of the once powerful Burgundian Empire. We will discover hidden corners, hear exciting stories, and be inspired by the lively atmosphere. In the evening, we will enjoy a 3-course dinner together in our hotel restaurant.
Day 2: Beaune & the Wine Route
After breakfast, we will drive to Beaune, the “wine capital” of Burgundy. On a guided tour of the city, we will explore the historic old town and visit the Hôtel-Dieu, the former hospice with its magnificent architecture. In the afternoon, we will travel along the world-famous wine route. We will stop at a winery in Vosne-Romanee, where we will tour the premises and taste the region's fine wines. The evening is free to spend in Dijon – enjoy the city's culinary diversity.
Day 3: Cluny Abbey & journey home
Our last day takes us to Cluny. We immerse ourselves in the fascinating history of the important Benedictine abbey, once one of the largest spiritual centers in Europe. After the tour, we enjoy a delicious lunch including wine and coffee. With many impressions and regional specialties in our luggage, we then begin our journey home.
