4-day gourmet short trip to the Strasserwirt: experience culinary highlights, historical cosiness and the breathtaking nature of East Tyrol. Excursions to Dolomite highlights such as Lake Misurina and the Three Peaks
The Strasserwirt - Ansitz zu Tirol is an absolute insider tip. First mentioned in a document in 1399. From the Gothic pointed arch to the inner courtyard, from the fresco to the walled door - every detail has been restored with sensitivity and respect for the historical heritage and adapted to the times. Each room is beautifully unique. At the Strasserwirt, eating and drinking is a real treat - here, food is prepared by hand with the greatest respect for nature, the season and the producers. Massages and body treatments are available for a fee in the hotel's own spa area. You won't leave this place of relaxation, enjoyment and Tyrolean hospitality without wanting to come back.
Head towards Austria and over the Arlberg Pass to Stams. Here we enjoy our first lunch in a special place. The journey continues comfortably past Innsbruck over the Brenner Pass to Bruneck. Here we visit the old town and treat ourselves to a coffee or a glass of wine in one of the many cafés or bars in the town centre. We reach Strassen in the late afternoon and check into our rooms at the Hotel Strasserwirt - Ansitz zu Tirol. In the evening we enjoy our first marvellous dinner in a wonderful atmosphere.
After an East Tyrolean gourmet breakfast, we set off with our tour guide on an ‘aromatic journey’ through the world of herbs. We then visit an orchard, a distillery and the whisky warehouse, where we also taste schnapps with a speciality snack. If the weather is fine, we drive to the Kalser Glocknerstrasse and enjoy the impressive view of the Grossglockner, Austria's highest mountain. If the weather is bad, we spend the day in Lienz. We round off the evening with a delicious gourmet menu.
Today's excursion takes us to the picturesque Lake Misurina. Here we can enjoy the beautiful scenery on a leisurely walk along the lakeshore, a pedalo ride or an aperitif on the lakeside promenade. We then continue to the imposing Three Peaks, which at 2,320 metres inspire with their impressive mountain scenery. After a delicious lunch, we drive to the idyllic Lake Dobbiaco and treat ourselves to an aromatic coffee. On the way back to the hotel, we stop at the Drei Zinnen Alpine dairy to buy some souvenirs. We bring the day to a relaxed close with dinner at the hotel and a drink at the bar.
And it's time to say goodbye again. We travel through South Tyrol via Bolzano and Merano, through the Venosta Valley towards the Ofen Pass, over the Flüela Pass to Davos and on to the Olten region. On the way, we enjoy another lunch together in a beautiful place.
