Lucca, Florence and Siena – three fascinating cities, delicious specialities and some of Tuscany’s most beautiful highlights. Together, we explore historic old towns, taste regional delicacies and enjoy the Italian way of life. Varied excursions are combined with delightful culinary moments featuring pasta, wine, gelato and typical Tuscan specialities.
Itinerary
Day 1: Journey to Montecatini Terme
Early in the morning, we depart from the Olten region and travel via Bern and through the Great St Bernard Tunnel to Italy. Along the way, we enjoy a delicious multi-course lunch together before continuing our journey towards Genoa and along the Ligurian coast to Montecatini Terme. In the evening, we enjoy dinner together. Afterwards, there is time to discover Montecatini Terme on a leisurely stroll or to end the day with a drink at the hotel bar.
Day 2: Lucca, Pasta and Wine
Today, Lucca is on our programme. After breakfast, we travel by coach to this charming Tuscan city and meet our local guide along the way. Lucca is also known as the “City of 100 Churches” and delights visitors with its completely preserved city walls, narrow streets, picturesque squares and numerous churches. After exploring the historic old town, we enjoy lunch together. In the afternoon, we visit a pasta factory before continuing to a winery, where we taste wine and typical regional specialities. In the late afternoon, we return to the hotel. Dinner together.
Day 3: Florence and Florentine Gelato
Today, Florence, the cradle of the Renaissance, awaits us. We travel by coach to this famous city of art and culture and meet our local guide along the way. During a walk through the historic centre, we see the impressive Cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiore, the Ponte Vecchio and Piazza della Signoria from the outside. Afterwards, there is free time for lunch and to explore Florence at your own pace. Of course, a sweet speciality is a must: we enjoy two scoops of the famous Florentine “Buontalenti” gelato, also known as “Crema Fiorentina”. In the late afternoon, we return to Montecatini Terme and round off the day with dinner together.
Day 4: Siena and Sweet Specialities
Another highlight of our Tuscany trip is Siena. After breakfast, we set off and meet our local guide. The city is considered a masterpiece of Gothic architecture and is closely associated with the famous Palio di Siena, the traditional horse race held in Piazza del Campo. After the guided city tour, we enjoy lunch together. In the afternoon, we discover Siena’s sweeter side and taste Panforte and Ricciarelli, two typical local specialities. Later in the afternoon, we return to the hotel and enjoy one final dinner together.
Day 5: Journey Home
After several eventful days in Tuscany, we begin our journey home. We leave Montecatini Terme and travel together towards Switzerland. Between Parma and Piacenza, we stop for lunch. Afterwards, we continue our journey home and return to Switzerland with many wonderful memories.

The traditional 4-star Grand Hotel Tettuccio enjoys a central location on the elegant Viale Verdi in Montecatini Terme, directly next to the thermal park. The stylishly furnished rooms feature air conditioning, satellite TV, minibar, telephone, Wi-Fi and a private bathroom. The hotel also has a restaurant and bar. Thanks to its central location, the town centre and surrounding area are within easy reach. The hotel provides a comfortable base for our excursions throughout Tuscany.
