The Ballenberg Open-Air Museum with its historic houses, animals, gardens and workshops is a kind of walk-in history book and offers emotional access to many exciting topics. Get in touch with history!
Dosome detective work with your pupils. Read the traces of times gone by in the more than 100 historic houses. The buildings tell of life back then, of the joys and sorrows of everyday life. This makes history tangible.
Variousexhibitions shed light on selected aspects of rural life then and now. Craftsmanship has a special significance: professionals are at work in several workshops and demonstrate their skills, for example in the rope-making workshop, in the saddlery or in the forge.
Usethe Ballenberg Open-Air Museum as a place of learning and a destination with your class. A visit offers insights into rural building culture, housing, life and farming in Switzerland 100, 200 and more years ago. The gardens showcase old crops, vegetable varieties and medicinal herbs.
School classes are best advised to explore the museum as part of a special guided program.
