FORCED BREAK ‘AT HOME’

The world stands still....
It's so surreal, we would never have thought that everything could slow down so quickly - the whole world. Suddenly there is no longer any sense of this hectic and ever faster-growing world!

But what can we do with all the time we have due to the corona crisis?

Let's pick up a book again, now we finally have the time to read it. For all those who don't like reading, there are exciting radio plays or podcasts on a wide variety of topics. We can laugh, share in the excitement or even learn something. And what always works is to switch on your favourite film or series, drink a good wine and forget about Covid19 for a moment.
And then there's music, which has helped us get through many a crisis. With it, we can dream ourselves away to other places and better times, reminisce or let out all the tension, anger or other feelings caused by the coronavirus by singing and dancing along.

It's spring time - that means yummy wild garlic time! So head into the forest to collect wild garlic and then you'll have plenty of time to conjure up and enjoy some delicious treats. If you don't like wild garlic so much, you finally have time to try out other recipes and perhaps cook more elaborate dishes. After all, something tasty in your stomach puts you in a better mood! Speaking of tasty, you can also use the time to bake - it certainly doesn't solve the problems, but it definitely makes them more bearable!

With so much to eat, you should also get some exercise, as this keeps you fit and strengthens your immune system. Go for a walk or make online or live stream videos at home, there is already a large selection here, so there is certainly something for everyone!

We also burn calories and exercise when we clean. Let's start our big spring clean now, so we'll have all the more time when we're allowed to be out and about again. Now is also the perfect time to get the balcony or garden ready for spring and to plant. As it is unfortunately no longer possible to buy many things in the normal way, you will probably have to look around online.

Online shops now also offer many smaller shops, so if you want to support your favourite shop, you can see if there is an online shop now. And if you don't like shopping in general, you'll unfortunately have to make yourself happy online, but it also saves time 😉

Support is a big word and you hear it a lot these days. So if you have a lot of time, you can offer support to others, shop for others, help out with the delivery service or as a harvest helper, and protective masks are also being sewn in some regions due to the shortage. Not only are you doing something useful with your time, but it's an incredibly great feeling to help!

Or maybe you have a DIY project of your own that you've been putting off all this time because somehow everything seems more important and you don't have the time. For example, painting a picture, crafting something or creating a photo wall for your home - now you have time to tackle it. Who knows, you might discover new talents or opportunities!

‘Photos’ are a good keyword, how about digging out old pictures and thinking back to better times - nice holidays, family celebrations, childhood, time with your loved ones.....

  • Now that we've admired all our loved ones, who unfortunately we can't all see at the moment, in the pictures, we have to make a call. Call each other regularly or even make video calls to pass the time and have fun. Or alternatively, surprise your loved ones with a postcard/letter, which will not only pass the time for you, but will also make your fellow human beings happy in this difficult situation. And somehow this ‘old-school letter/postcard writing’ fits in with the standstill we are currently experiencing.

We can TALK to the people we see. Talk about your problems, thoughts and feelings - now you have time to do so and you're not in the stress of everyday life! Be kind to each other and show understanding, everyone deals with or perceives the situation differently.

If you have children at home and Easter is coming up, why not make something nice to match the theme as a gift or for table decorations? And for
Young and old play board games, it's a great pastime where you can practise different things depending on the game.

And last but not least, plan for the time after the crisis, have a look at our homepage, maybe there is a trip that interests you. One thing is for sure, we will enjoy the time with our loved ones, the feeling of freedom and the luxury of travelling even more. And we have also learnt to appreciate the blessing of being healthy even more!

Take care of yourselves and stay healthy!
